Mortal Kombat 1, the 2023 remake of the iconic video game series, is not only a thrilling fighting game, but also a source of inspiration for sneaker lovers. Ceeze, a New York-based creative, has collaborated with Reebok to create two custom versions of the Pump Omni-Zone II, a classic basketball shoe from 1992. The sneakers are designed to honor the game’s new colors and protagonist, Liu Kang.
“Shipped,” the first colorway, resembles the logo of Mortal Kombat 1, featuring a white alligator effect with blue suede and hot embers printed on napa leather. The second pair, dubbed “Liu Kang,” is inspired by the character of the same name, and features a red sued gator with canvas materials and gold tones on black suede. Both pairs have the Mortal Kombat 1 logo on the tongue and heel, as well as Ceeze’s signature on the side. The sneakers are limited to 15 pairs each and are sold via auction on Ceeze’s webstore. These are not just shoes, but pieces of art that celebrate the legacy of Mortal Kombat 1.
